Men's Soccer Heads to Cornell

Bearcats and Big Red Square Off Tonight at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (3-4-1) won 5-1 at Canisius on Saturday night. Sophomore forward Haris Brkovic, the current America East Player of the Week, scored twice while redshirt freshman back Kurt Wesch finished with a goal and an assist.

- Junior forward Nikos Psarras, who also scored a goal against Canisius, is tied for the America East lead with six goals and ranks third with 12 total points. Freshman midfielder Noah Luescher, who has been named the America East Rookie of the Week twice this season, is tied for second in the conference with four assists and is tied for fourth with 10 total points.

- Cornell (3-3-1) has won its last two games, including a 2-1 win over St. Francis (N.Y.) last Friday. Tommy Hansen, who leads the Big Red with three goals and six total points, netted both goals in the victory. Earlier in the season, Cornell won 1-0 at No. 11 Syracuse back on Sept. 12.

- As a team, Binghamton is tied for second in the America East with 2.00 goals per game. Three times this season, the Bearcats have scored at least three goals in a game. Defensively, meanwhile, the Bearcats have allowed 0.90 goals per game in their past three matches.

- Brkovic and Wesch became the fifth and sixth newcomers to score for the Bearcats this season. Overall, 10 of Binghamton's 16 goals this season have been scored by first-year players.

- Cornell leads the all-time series 4-5-1 against Binghamton. Last year, the two teams played to a 1-1 deadlock on Sept. 14 at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Current senior forward Ben Ovetsky scored the Binghamton goal. The last time the two teams played at Berman Field, the Bearcats won 1-0 on a second-half goal by Alex Varkatzas
