Swimming & Diving Host Marist In Final Home Meet of the Season

Bearcats and Red Foxes face off at 1 p.m. Thursday

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton swimming & diving programs host Marist in the final home meet of the season on Thursday. The dual meet is set to start at 1 p.m. at the Patricia A. Saunder Aquatics Center.

Both teams traveled to Florida for their annual winter break training trip over the last two weeks. The Bearcats competed in the FIU Sprint Invite on January 5 as part of the trip. The men finished second out of eight teams while the women took third out of ten.

Ryan O'Connell and Tyler Meyers secured the top individual finishes for the Bearcats at the invite. O'Connell placed second in the three-meter dive with 224 points and Meyers took second in the 100 back (51.89) The 200 free relay team of Alex Brion, Travis Blank, Matt DeVito and Tyler Meyers finished fourth with a time of 1:30.87.

Sydney Atendido led the women with three top-ten finishes. She grabbed ninth in the 50 breast (32.00), 1010 IM (1:02.85) and the 100 breast (1:09.01).

Both teams travel to St. Bonaventure this weekend to take on the Bonnies.
