Women's Basketball Travels to Albany

Bearcats and Great Danes Square Off 2 p.m. on Monday








STORY LINES

- Binghamton (11-5, 2-1 AE) is off to its best start since the 2003-04 season. The Bearcats defeated Hartford 64-59 on Saturday behind 27 points by senior guard Imani Watkins. Sophomore guard Kai Moon had 16 points while junior forward Rebecca Carmody finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Senior forward Alyssa James, meanwhile, grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds. 

- Watkins continues to lead the America East and now ranks No. 14 in the nation with 21.4 points per game. She also is second in the conference in steals (2.6 spg.). James is tops in the America East and second in the nation with 4.3 blocks per game. She is also third in the America East in rebounding (9.0 rpg.). 

- As a team, Binghamton leads the conference and is third in the nation with 7.3 blocks per game. The Bearcats are also first in the America East in rebounding (42.1 rpg.) and are second in scoring (67.9 ppg.)

- James currently has 229 career blocks. She is two rejections away from tying the America East all-time record (231 by Jamie Cassidy of Maine from 1996-00) and seven from the Binghamton program record of 236, set by current Associate Head Coach Leah (Truncale) Bowers from 1998-02.

- Albany (14-3, 3-1 AE) is the six-time defending America East champion. Most recently, the Great Danes defeated Maine 68-54 on Saturday. Jessica Fequiere, who ranks second in the America East with 19.4 points per game, poured in a game-high 35 points. As a team, Albany leads the America East in scoring (69.9 ppg.).

- Albany leads the all-time series 37-25, having won the past 15 meetings. Binghamton's last victory in the series was a 41-40 decision at Albany on Feb. 20, 2011. During the Great Danes' current win streak, the two teams have met in the conference tournament three times (2012, 2014 & 2016).
