VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton volleyball (4-16, 2-5 America East) welcomes longtime SUNY rival Albany (12-8, 6-1 AE) to town for a 5 p.m. tilt Sunday at West Gymnasium. The Great Danes are in second place in the conference standings while the Bearcats are in fifth.
The Bearcats began the second half of conference play with a 3-1 loss to UMBC nine days ago and BU will be aiming to snap a four-match losing streak when they face Albany for the second time this season. Binghamton sits in fifth place - one spot out of playoff contention - with five regular season matches remaining.

Gaby Alicea ranks second in the conference in kills (3.48/set) and fourth in points (3.97/set). Sophomore
Samantha Gioiosa is fifth in digs (3.68/set) and freshman setter
Kiara Adams is fifth in assists (7.81/set).Â
Albany is coming of a 3-1 win at UMBC on Friday. The Great Danes are limiting opponents to a .188 hitting percentage - the best defensive mark in the conference. Albany also ranks second in aces and third in blocks.
Albany leads the all-time head-to-head series 28-15 and has swept BU in two of the last three years. The teams split the season series in 2016. Back on Sept. 28 in Albany, the Great Danes posted a 3-1 win. The Bearcats won the first set 25-21 before Albany took the final three tight sets, 25-21, 25-22 and 28-26.
