VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton volleyball has once again been recognized nationally for its academic success. The AVCA announced its 2026 Team Academic Award recipients on Thursday and for the eighth time in 12 years, the Bearcats earned the accolade.

The award honors teams that maintain a 3.3 or higher GPA for the school year. Head coach Allie Yaeger's team posted a 3.50 GPA. It was the fifth time in the last eight years and ninth time overall that Binghamton earned national distinction. In the spring semester, the team posted a 3.56 GPA with 73% of its roster above a 3.3.  

Last fall, the Bearcats won 12 matches, including seven of their final 10 to tie for third place in the America East - one win shy of claiming the conference regular-season title. 

Yaeger's squad opens its 2026 season on Aug. 28 at the Toledo Rocket Invitational.
