VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (1-2) heads seven hours south on I-81 for a weekend series at Liberty (4-0). The teams will play single games Friday (3 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.). The Friday and Sunday games will be broadcast on ESPN3. All three games will be played at the 2,500-seat Liberty Baseball Stadium, one of seven "must see" stadiums, according to ncaa.com. Â
The Bearcats are coming off a season-opening weekend at Northwestern State (La.), where they went 1-2. Binghamton dropped a tight opening game before the teams traded lopsided results in the final two games.Â

Anthony Meduri leads the team with a .455 average (5-for-11) and three RBI. He was named the America East Player of the Week. Freshman first baseman
Shane Marshall hit .444 (4-for-9) in his collegiate debut and senior catcher
Jason Agresti had a .583 on-base percentage in the series.Â
Senior lefty
Nick Wegmann (1-0, 1.50) notched the win in the series finale on Sunday. He will again pitch on Sunday for the Bearcats.  Â
Liberty was picked to finish second in the 2018 Big South Preseason Poll (behind Winthrop). They began their season with a three-game sweep of VCU and then beat James Madison on Tuesday to remain unbeaten. The Flames boast Big South Preseason Player of the Year, All-America outfielder D.J. Artis, who hit .359 with 45 RBI last spring.Â
The team has a pitching ERA of 3.00 and two of the team's three projected starters vs. Binghamton haven't allowed an earned run. Â
Sophomore catcher Jonathan Embry is hitting .615 (8-for-13) with six RBI. Left fielder Tre Todd has two home runs and seven RBI.Â
