VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (2-4) returns to the road for its third series of the 2018 season when the Bearcats open a three-game set at Richmond (5-3) on Friday. The teams will play single games Friday (2 p.m.), Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (noon) at turf Pitt Field.Â
Binghamton has taken one of three games in each of its first two weekends at Northwestern State and Liberty. The team is hitting .240 and has a pitching ERA of 5.04.
Junior outfielder
Anthony Meduri leads BU with a .455 average. He missed the last series with an injury but should be back in the lineup this weekend.Â
Freshman first baseman
Shane Marshall has started his collegiate career with a bang, and is hitting .381 with three RBI in five games.
Senior center fielder
CJ Krowiak is batting .333 with five extra-base hits and a team-best six RBI.Â
Richmond is coming off a 10-6 loss to James Madison on Wednesday. Last weekend the Spiders swept Towson in a three-game home set. Richmond opened its campaign with a 4-3 loss to No. 13 Louisville. The team also has wins over George Mason and The Citadel.Â
The Spiders are hitting .312 as a team and have a 3.99 pitching ERA. They return six starting position players and 14 pitchers from a team that went 17-36 and placed 12th in the Atlantic 10 (6-17).Â
The teams met for the first time last spring and BU rolled to a 15-0 win in Richmond.Â
