Bearcats play twinbill in New Britain, CT beginning at 1 p.m.

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (17-29-1) wraps up its regular season with a doubleheader Friday at Central Connecticut State (17-27). The teams will play a pair of seven-inning games beginning at 1 p.m. at the CCSU Baseball Field.

The Bearcats are hoping their season will extend beyond Friday but have to scoreboard watch the UMBC-Albany series. In order for BU to advance to the America East tournament, UMBC has to sweep its three-game home series against Albany, which would allow the Bearcats to overtake Albany for the sixth and final playoff spot.

Freshman outfielder Andrew Eng leads BU with a .319 average. In 19 games, Eng has a .424 on-base percentage. Senior first baseman Luke Tevlin is hitting .296 and senior catcher Jason Agresti has team-highs of 15 doubles and 29 RBI.

Junior right-hander Nick Gallagher (3-7, 4.82 ERA) will start the opener and senior left-hander Nick Wegmann (3-7, 3.80 ERA) will start Game 2.

Binghamton has a .246 team batting average and a 4.52 pitching ERA.

CCSU is coming off a rain-shortened 3-0 loss to America East leader Hartford on Wednesday. The game was five innings. The Blue Devils are 11-16 in the Northeast Conference and have been eliminated from the postseason. They are hitting .271 as a team and have a 5.31 pitching ERA.
