VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer (4-2) welcomes Northeast Conference member Wagner (1-4) to the Bearcats Sports Complex for a home tilt Thursday night. The teams will tangle for the first time in 13 years at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
After starting the season by playing four of six games on the road, BU is back at home for three of its next four games. The Wagner game is the start of the team's final three non-conference games before America East play begins.
The Bearcats had a three-game win streak snapped in Sunday's 2-0 setback at Atlantic 10 power George Mason. Before that, BU rattled off wins over St. Francis (2-0), Manhattan (2-0) and American (3-1).
Freshman midfielder
Olivia McKnight earned America East Rookie of the Week honors for a second straight week. She scored a pair of second-half goals in BU's 3-1 road win at American and leads the conference in both goals (4) and points (10). McKnight ranks in the nation's top-50 in both categories.
Sophomore keeper
Haylee Poltorak has a 1.17 goals against average and three shutouts.
The Seahawks added 10 newcomers to a program that finished eighth (of nine) in the Northeast Conference last fall (3-14). This season, Wagner posted a 5-0 win over Delaware State but since has dropped three straight, including a 6-1 loss at Saint Mary's (Calif.) in its last outing on Sunday. Prior to that, they played a tight 1-0 game against Rhode Island.
Binghamton and Wagner have met only once prior — in September 2006. In that game, BU posted a 4-0 win at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
