BOSTON, Mass. – Senior
Matt Baker broke his own school record in the triple jump, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships, which were held Friday-Sunday at the Boston University Track & Field Center. The Bearcat men's team was 10th out of 37 scoring squads while the women were 39th out of 41 scoring team.
Matt was second overall in the triple jump with a distance of 50-8 3/4. It shattered his previous mark of 49-11 ¼, which he recorded at the America East Championships last month. Baker has now broken his own school record three times during the current indoor season.
The Bearcat men posted two other runner-up finishes. Senior
Jack Fitzgerald was second in the high jump (6-10 3/4) and fellow senior
Troy Zanger was second in the heptathlon (5.073).
Junior
Mallory Prelewicz was seventh in the pole vault with a height of 11-11 3/4.
Binghamton starts its outdoor season on March 28 at the Lafayette 8-Way Meet on March 298.
