VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton University women's lacrosse team will take on UMBC Saturday at 12 p.m. in Baltimore. The Bearcats will be playing their second game in a stretch of four days, and are looking for a third consecutive victory.

BU is coming off back-to-back wins over Hartford and New Hampshire, and looks to continue the positive momentum heading into the final third of the season.

In the 13-10 win over the Wildcats, Paige Volkmann led the team with four goals and three assists.

Volkmann has been on a tear, and is now first in the America East in points per game (5.0) and second in goals per game (3.5).

Freshmen Jesse Barer and Madison Murphy finished with three points apiece Wednesday. Barer had a hat-trick, which was the first of her career. She and Volkmann combined to score the final four goals of the game. Murphy (two goals, one assist) continued the hot start to her collegiate career.

Rebecca Korn also scored twice, totaling five finishes in the past two games.

Alyssa Sanchez leads the team in draw controls (22).

Taylor Passuello leads the team in ground balls (23) and is now up to 54 saves this season.

UMBC is 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the America East this season.

The Retrievers are coming off a 11-8 victory over Vermont Saturday. Their other victories have come over VCU, Hartford, UMass-Lowell, and BU earlier in the season. Their losses have come against Towson, Stony Brook, New Hampshire and Albany.

Claire Bockstie (26 goals, five assists), and Dymin Gerow (22 goals), lead the way offensively for UMBC.

Gerow won two of the America East's latest Weekly Awards, winning Offensive Player of the Week, and Rookie of the Week. This was the first time since February 2016 an America East player has been named both Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week.

Goalie Lexi Roberts has 88 saves this season with a .461 save percentage.
