Women’s Basketball Heads to UMass Lowell

Bearcats and River Hawks Tip Off Monday at 5 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (5-16, 1-10 AE) lost 54-51 at New Hampshire on Saturday. Junior forward Birna Benonysdottir poured in a game-high 23 points while junior guard Denai Bowman turned in a 12-point, five-rebound, seven-assist, four-steal performance. Junior forward Clare Traeger, meanwhile, grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

- Benonysdottir ranks second in the America East with 14.9 points per game while Bowman is third (14.1 ppg.). Bowman is also tied for second in both assists (3.8 apg.) and steals (1.9 spg.) while Benonysdottir is tied for ninth in blocks (0.9 bpg.). Traeger is first in the conference in rebounding (8.6 rpg.). As a team, Binghamton continues to lead the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense (20.8).

- UMass Lowell (8-11, 5-5 AE) won 70-68 at UMBC on Saturday. Kaylen Banwareesingh and Denise Solis combined for 25 points in the victory.

- Kharis Idom leads the River Hawks with 10.0 points per game. Amaya Dowdy is tied for fifth in the America East with 1.0 blocks per contest. As a team, the River Hawks lead the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.358).

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against UMass Lowell 14-6. Last season, the two teams split a pair of games at Lowell. The host River Hawks won 59-46 on Jan. 16 but the Bearcats got even with a 67-63 triumph the following day. Bowman had 20 points in the victory while Benonysdottir added 18 points.
