Women’s lacrosse to take on Mount St. Mary’s Saturday

Game begins at 1 p.m. in Emmitsburg, Md.

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's lacrosse hits the road to take on Mount St. Mary's Saturday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium. The Bearcats (1-2) then return home for three straight contests to begin March.

Notes

  • BU enters at 1-2 on the season, with a win over Colgate sandwiched between losses to No. 3 Syracuse and Cornell. Freshman Abigail Carroll leads the team in scoring with seven goals. Three Bearcats have two assists on the year.

  • Emily Manning has made 22 saves in goal, including a nine-save effort against Colgate last week. Kelly Quinn has seven ground balls and five caused turnovers to lead the team defensively.

  • Kenna Newman led Binghamton's offensive effort against the Big Red Tuesday, scoring twice. Madison Murphy and Abigail Carroll each got in the scoresheet with a goal apiece. 

  • On the defensive side, Gabrielle Marshall added five ground balls. Quinn and Sofia Afkham each caused a turnover.
     

Scouting the Mountaineers

  • Mount St. Mary's is 2-2 on the season, and all four games have been tight contests. In their two wins, the Mountaineers have outscored opponents 24-20. In their two losses, they've been outscored 23-20.

  • The hosts are coming off a 13-11 loss to Navy Wednesday.

  • Erin Anderson led the team in scoring against the Midshipmen, notching four goals. Zoe Hurlbert added a hat-trick.

  • Hurlbert and Dani Donoghue lead the team with 10 goals apiece this season. The duo has combined for three four-goal games early in the campaign.

  • Mount St. Mary's is 3-1 against America East Conference opponents since 2018.

  • Mount St. Mary's holds a 2-1 series lead in the all-time series, including a 9-8 overtime win in 2019.
