Swimming & Diving Swept at Cornell

Big Red win men’s meet 147-94, women’s competition 129-105

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Binghamton swimming & diving teams were swept by Cornell in a dual meet on Friday evening at Teagle Pool. The Bearcats were defeated 147-94 in the men's meet as well as 129-105 in the women's competition.

Junior Elijah Lanfear was the Bearcats lone double winner, sweeping both the men's 50 free (20.88) and 100 fly (50.21).

On the women's side, individual event winners included junior Lauren Kuzma in the 100 breast (2:06.11), sophomore Elizabeth Tirado in the three-meter diving competition (217.13) and fellow sophomore Olivia Philbrick in the 100 back (57.86).

Binghamton also swept both the men's and women's 400 free relays. The men's quartet of sophomore Liam Preston, freshman Cullin Cole and seniors Henry Shemet and George Kipshidze clocked a time of 3:08.58. The women's team of seniors Maddie Hoover, Molly Greeley and Marley Zimmerman recorded a time of 3:39.51.

The Bearcats return home on Saturday to face Canisius. The diving events start at 11:30 a.m. followed by the swimming events at 1 p.m.
