Baseball plays three-game series at George Washington

Bearcats and GW square off Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons in Arlington, Va.

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (3-6) heads to Arlington, Va. for a weekend set against Atlantic-10 member George Washington (3-10). The teams begin the three-game series at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park and then play single games Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The final two games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Junior left fielder Tommy Reifler leads the Bearcats with a .429 average. Junior shortstop Isaiah Corry is hitting .370 and sophomore third baseman Devan Bade is at .367 with team-highs of two home runs and eight RBI. 

On the mound, junior No. 2 starter Gabe Driscoll has jumped out to a hot start with a 2-0 record and 0.54 ERA. He has more strikeouts (15) than hits allowed (13) and has given up just one run in 16.2 innings. 

Binghamton is hitting .282 as a team and has a 6.30 ERA.  

George Washington is 3-10 and has dropped six of its last seven. One of the recent wins was a 10-7 road victory at Delaware on Tuesday. The Colonials are hitting .275 as a team and have a 9.16 ERA - one that jumped a bit after Wednesdays 21-11 home loss to Towson. 

The teams are meeting for just the second time. George Washington posted a 13-8 home win back in 2011.
