Track & Field Competes at Bucknell Outdoor Classic

Chan wins women’s 100 hurdles in non-scoring meet

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Jenna Chan won the women's 100 hurdles, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic. There was no team scoring at the meet.

Chan, who won the America East indoor title in the 60 hurdles, clocked a first-place time of 14.03. Other top finishers on the women's side included graduate student Stephanie Cassens, who was fifth in the 800 (2:09.10) and fellow graduate student Aziza Chigatayeva, who was sixth in the 1,500 (4:18.59).

Chigatayeva's time currently ranks No. 39 in the NCAA East Region rankings and first in the America East Conference.

On the men's side, junior Brandon Love was second in the pole vault (16-0 ¾) and senior Marcrene Jeannot was third in the triple jump (49-1). Jeannot, who jumped 49-3 ½ two weeks ago at William & Mary, is currently ranked No. 39 in the East Region rankings.

In addition, sophomore Joey Cardascia was sixth in the 400 with a time of 47.84. His time ranks second all-time in Binghamton track & field history, trailing only Cazal Arnett's 46.34 clocked during the 2009 campaign.

Up next for Binghamton is a pair of meets this coming weekend – the Virginia Cavalier Classic (Friday-Saturday) and the Bucknell Team Challenge (Saturday only).
