VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton swimming & diving team welcomes Bryant to the Saunders Aquatic Center for a two-day meet, starting on Friday. The Bearcats and Bulldogs begin their competition on Friday at 5 p.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
This marks the first time that the Saunders Aquatic Center has been the site of a two-day dual meet since the Bearcats hosted UMass on Nov. 2-3, 2013.

STORY LINES

- There is a great deal of recent history between Binghamton and Bryant on both the men's and women's sides. Last year, the Bearcat men's team won its second America East title in four seasons by finishing 86 points ahead of the runner-up Bulldogs. On the women's side, Bryant defeated Binghamton 155-145 in a dual meet on Oct. 28 – which came down to the final relay.

- Binghamton head coach Jerry Cummiskey was the Associate Head Coach at Bryant for six seasons (2013-19) before accepting the Bearcats' top job in July 2019. He served under current Bulldog head coach Katie Cameron, who is in her 20th season at the helm of the Bryant program.

- The Bearcats have been off since their season-opening dual meet sweep over Le Moyne on Sept. 28. Junior Elijah Lanfear won three events against the Dolphins (50 free, 50 fly and 200 free) and was named the America East Male Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 1. On the women's side, sophomore Maria Pignatelli (50 free and 100 free) and Celia Webster (100 back and 200 IM) were each double-event winners against Le Moyne.

- Lanfear is one of three defending America East individual champions returning for the Bearcats this season. Last year, he won the men's conference titles in both the 50 free and 100 free. Binghamton's women's team, meanwhile, returns graduate student Courtney Moane (100 breast) and senior Lauren Kuzma (200 breast).

- Bryant returns four America East individual champions on the men's side and two on the women's squad. This includes Christopher Buonocore, who was named the Most Outstanding Men's Diver at last year's America East Championships, and Leo Luna, who swept both the men's 500 free and 1,650 free. In addition, Megan Beasley captured the women's one-meter diving title while Makayla Pierce took top honors in the women's 500 free.

- Both Binghamton teams welcome 12 newcomers to their 2024-25 squads. From that collective group, there were seven individual event winners in the dual meet against Le Moyne.
