Men’s Soccer Hosts UAlbany on Senior Day

Bearcats and Great Danes Square Off Friday at 6:07 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton is hosting its 17th Senior Day Game since moving into the Bearcats Sports Complex in 2007. Since then, the Bearcats are 9-4-3 in Senior Day matches.

- The Bearcats will be recognizing their nine graduating players prior to their match against UAlbany. This year's Senior Day honorees include Carlo Cavalar, Billy Clark, Tom Cohen, Chris Comber, Sean Fitzgerald, Charlie Kaldor, Mael Lopes, Dylan McDermott and Ramsey Tilger.

- In its most recent match, Binghamton (8-6-2, 2-3-0 AE) lost 4-1 at Bryant on Sunday afternoon. Redshirt midfielder Gaven Egan netted the Bearcats' goal in the 11th minute with the assist going to Cavalar.

- Senior back Luke Yates and sophomore forward Anthony Randazzo each have a team-best four goals so far this season. Sophomore midfielder Marcus Nahim is first on the team and third in the America East with five assists. Yates and redshirt sophomore forward Cailen Thomas are tied for third in the conference with a pair of game-winning goals. McDermott, meanwhile, is first with 68 saves.

- UAlbany (4-11-1, 1-4-0 AE) lost 5-1 to visiting New Hampshire last Saturday. Zach Lind scored the Great Danes' goal in the fifth minute of the match.

- Ander Castillo and Timo Jansen of UAlbany are tied for second in the America East with seven goals each. Jansen is also third in the conference with 18 total points (7-4) while Castillo is fourth with 17 points (7-3), 

- Binghamton leads the series against UAlbany 12-10-4 since the two teams moved up to the NCAA Division I level in 2001. Most recently, the Bearcats won 3-1 at UAlbany on Oct. 7, 2023. Randazzo and current junior midfielder Calvin Moe both scored for Binghamton during that match.

- This marks the fourth time that Binghamton and UAlbany will meet on Senior Day at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Bearcats have won two out of the three previous matches. Most recently, Binghamton won 1-0 back on Nov. 6, 2019.

- Binghamton's eight wins this season represent its highest total since going 10-8-1 in 2015. The Bearcats advanced to the America East finals that year. 

- Depth has been a strength for the Bearcats this season, with 10 players having scored at least one goal this season. In addition, 15 players have notched at least one point and five of them have recorded at least one game-winning goal.
