BURLINGTON, Vt. (BUBearcats.com) - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (5-6, 1-1) is set for a road battle with America East opponent Vermont (6-4, 1-1) Saturday. First draw is set for 11 a.m. at Virtue Field.

The Bearcats look to earn their second conference victory of the season up north after grabbing a 14-9 comeback victory over UMass Lowell last Saturday, March 23, at home.

In her first career start, reigning America East Rookie of the Week Emma Blloshmi recorded a career-best four goals and four draw controls in the win. Madison Murphy highlighted action for the Bearcats against the River Hawks, earning five points on four goals and one assist.

Carla Curth registered four points with two goals and two assists while Kristen Scheidel found the back of the net twice for BU. Olivia Muscolino and Gabriella Meli also recorded goals in the victory, extending Muscolino's scoring streak to 29 straight games.

Hayley Weltner posted a one assist and team-best six draw controls as well, bringing her program-best career draw controls total to 213.

Binghamton is currently fifth in the America East team standings behind Bryant (7-3, 1-0), UAlbany (3-7, 2-0), UMass-Lowell, UMBC (6-4, 1-1) and Vermont (6-4, 1-1). BU is second overall in the conference in shots per game (30.36) and woman-up goals per game (2.00) while ranking third in points per game (17.36).

Muscolino ranks in the top-10 of all AE performers in three major offensive categories. The junior attacker is eighth in shots per game (6.00) as well as ninth in points per game (3.00) and goals per game (2.45).

Two active Bearcats rank in the top-10 players in the conference for draw controls per game with Weltner in fifth (5.00 avg) and Scheidel in seventh (4.18 avg). Angelina Suau also sits tenth in the America East for caused turnovers per game (1.18).

Vermont leads the all-time series with Binghamton 14-9, though BU won the teams last meeting 12-10 in the 2023 America East Semifinals. Scheidel, Muscolino and Weltner all found the back of the net for the Bearcats in the victory.

Last time out, the Catamounts dropped a 17-7 conference contest to UAlbany, Sunday, March 24. UVM's sole AE win came against New Hampshire, 17-11, March 16.
