VESTAL, N.Y. – After finishing the fall season on a strong note, both
Brandon Conner and
Jack Tebeau have been rewarded by being named Prime Performers by the NEC for the month of October, the league announced Thursday.
This is the second time in as many months that Conner has been named a Prime Performer by the NEC, and the fifth time in his career. The senior previously earned the honor on Oct. 5, 2023, Oct. 31, 2024, April 9, 2025 and Oct. 2, 2025. For Tebeau, this marks the first occasion that the freshman has received this accolade.
To close out the first half of the 2025-26 season, each golfer posted a top-five finish during the month of October. At the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, Conner finished second at Binghamton's home event for the second time in three years. The Cincinnati, Ohio native put up another historic performance for the Binghamton golf program by shooting 71-66 = 137/7-under par. His final score of 7-under par tied his own program record for the lowest score for 36 holes, which he previously set at the 2023 Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational. Conner's second-round score of 66/6-under par is also tied for the program's lowest individual score for one round.
Tebeau, who was competing in only his fourth collegiate tournament at the Matthews Auto invite, just missed out on his first top 20 finish by tying for 23rd at 71-74 = 145/1-over par. He set a new career-low score for a round when he shot 71/1-under par in the opening round. The Hamburg, N.Y., would then find himself in the running for medalist honors at Binghamton's next event.
In the Crusader Invitational, Tebeau tied for third at 69-71 = 140/even-par, making it the first top-five finish of his career. Tebeau's final score of 140/even-par is the lowest score he has recorded in a 36-hole tournament. Additionally, his first-round score of 69/1-under par tied his lowest round.
Conner, meanwhile, tied for 15th at the Crusader Invitational by shooting 77-68 = 145/5-over par. It marked the third time Conner has finished within the top 20 this season. His score of 68/2-under par in the final round was the lowest score any Binghamton player recorded that day.
Overall, Conner has won one golf tournament to go along with five top 10 finishes and seven top 20 finishes throughout his Binghamton career. His victory came at the 2024 Lehigh Invitational, which led to him being named Golfer of the Month for October by the NEC, the first Bearcat to ever receive that honor.
The Bearcats are now preparing to compete in the spring portion of their 2025-26 season. The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
