VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton golf team announced Friday the addition of two golfers who have signed onto the program. Both Jake Doherty and Patrick Smith are set to join the Bearcats in the Fall of 2026.
 
"It is great to have Jake and Patrick join our team," said Binghamton Head Golf Coach Bernie Herceg. "They are both tremendous athletes who work well on a team. Their best golf is right in front of them as we look forward to them making an impact from day one."
 
The duo is joining a Binghamton golf program that is gaining momentum. During the fall portion of their 2025-26 season, the Bearcats finished in the top three in three of their five tournaments. Brandon Conner, who finished second at both the Blue Hen Intercollegiate and the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, was named a Prime Performer by the NEC for the months of September and October. Freshman Jack Tebeau was also selected as a Prime Performer for the month of October after he tied for third at the Crusader Invitational.
 
Binghamton will announce its schedule for the spring season at a later date.
