Bearcats tabbed No. 13 as 2025 season concludes

VESTAL, N.Y. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its final 2025 Northeast Region Cross Country Poll and Binghamton men's team has cracked the rankings at the No. 13 position. It is the first time the Bearcats have been ranked this season and also marks their first appearance since ending the 2021 campaign at the No. 14 position.

Binghamton finished 13th out of 38 teams at the NCAA Northeast Region Meet two weeks ago. It marked the Bearcats' highest finish at the event since they were 11th in 2015.

The ranking concludes an impressive season for the Bearcat men, who also earned a runner-up finish at the America East Championships on Oct. 31. In addition, Binghamton was the third-place team in the Brown Race at the Lehigh/Paul Short Run on Oct. 3 and won the team title at the Canisius/Alumni Classic on Oct. 18.

Sophomore Bobby Mayclim was the Bearcats' top men's performer this year, placing fourth overall at the America East Championships as well as 38th at the NCAA Northeast Region Meet. He was one of five Bearcat men to earn all-conference honors at the America East meet, with sophomore Nick Thomas (sixth place), junior Liam Cody (seventh), senior Andrew Rosenblatt (ninth) and freshman George Thomatos (12th) joining him.

Rosenblatt also placed 67th overall at the NCAA Northeast Region Meet while Cody was 75th and Thomas was 97th.

Two other newcomers who made an impact this season were freshmen Anthony Zazzaro and Noah Hilker. Zazzaro was 19th at the conference meet while Hilker placed 23rd.

Other than Rosenblatt, everyone who competed at the America East and Northeast Region Meet returns next fall for the Bearcats.

Binghamton begins its indoor track season on Dec. 6 at the Cornell/Greg Page Relays.

NOTES: Since 2009, the Binghamton men's cross country team has been ranked in the final USTFCCCA Northeast Region poll eight times. The Bearcats finished a program-best eighth in 2009.
