Gasper, Zuba, Duzynski and Congelli to join Bearcats next fall

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton cross country/distance track program has announced four signs as part of the National Letter of Intent (NLI) signing period. The two men and two women will join the Bearcats as freshmen next fall.

"We're extremely excited about the group of student-athletes we've signed this fall," head cross country/assistant track coach Annette Acuff said. "This group is well-balanced, with both the cross-country strength and track speed needed to contribute to our program immediately. They have also demonstrated a strong commitment to their academics and we're confident they'll continue to uphold the academic standards of our program. Their potential is tremendous and we can't wait to begin working with them."

On the men's side, Owen Gasper (Auburn, N.Y.) is a senior from Auburn High School. He placed 10th overall at the recent New York State (NYS) Federation Cross Country Meet. Gasper also placed eighth overall in the 1,600 at the 2025 Indoor Track Championships. His top track times are 4:19.29 in the 1,600 and 9:25.15 in the 3,200.

Carson Zuba (Lancaster, N.Y.) is currently at Lancaster Central High School. He was 15th overall at the same NYS Federation Cross Country Meet. As a junior, Zuba was 12th in the 1,600 at the NYS Outdoor Championship and was also 12th in the 3,200 at the preceding state indoor meet. His top track times are 4:15.71 in the 1,600 and 9:20.36 in the 3,200.

On the women's side, Julia Duzynski (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) is a current senior at Yorktown Heights High School. She won the Varsity Girls C race at the Manhattan University Cross Country Invite with a personal best time of 15:11 for the 2.5 mile course.  She was 16th at the recent NYS Class B Cross Country Championships and was 15th in 2024. Duzynski was also 33rd overall at the 2025 NYS Federation Meet. Her top track times are 4:49 in the 1,500 and 7:11 in the 2,000 Steeplechase (SC).

Finally, Anna Congelli (Tully, N.Y.) runs for Tully High School. She was fourth at the recent NYS XC Class D Championship and was third the previous year. Congelli was 18th overall in the 800 at the 2025 Outdoor Track Championships. Her top track times are 2:15.28 in the 800 and 4:44.71 in the 1,500.
