Cross Country Concludes Season at Northeast Region Meet

Mayclim places 38th in men’s race, Gansrow 59th in women’s competition

HOPKINTON, N.H. – Sophomore Bobby Mayclim was 38th in the men's race and fellow sophomore Anna Gansrow was 59th overall in the women's event, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the NCAA Northeast Region Cross Country Meet on Friday at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. The Bearcat men were 13th out of 38 teams while the women's squad was 19th out of 37 squads.

The 13th-place finish is the best performance by the Binghamton men's team at the NCAA Northeast Region Meet since placing 11th back in 2015. It also ties the Bearcat men's fourth-highest finish at the event since they moved up to the NCAA Division I level in 2001.

Mayclim's finish, meanwhile, ties for the sixth-highest finish by a Binghamton men's runner at the NCAA Northeast Region Meet. He clocked a time of 30:23 over the 10,000-meter course.

Senior Andrew Rosenblatt was the Bearcats' men's second runner, finishing a career-best 57th with a time of 30:40. Finishing up the scoring for Binghamton were junior Liam Cody in 75th place (30:54), sophomore Nick Thomas in 97th place (31:09) and freshman Anthony Zazzaro in 107th place (31:15).

Frederick Kipkosgei of Hofstra won the men's race with a time of 29:12. In the team standings, Syracuse placed five runners among the top 10 finishers to breeze to the championship with just 32 points.

There were 263 finishers in the men's race.

Gansow, meanwhile, covered the women's  6,000-meter course in a time of 21:02. She was followed in the team scoring by senior Sydney Leitner in 62nd place (21:05), freshman Alice Rappazzo in 126th place (21:50), redshirt sophomore Vicky Mordvinova in 147th place (22:05) and junior Brynn Hogan in 164th place (22:23).

Charlotte Richman of Army won the individual title with a time of 19:52. The team championship was captured by Boston College, which scored just 60 points.

There were 251 finishers in the women's race.

The NCAA Northeast Region Meet concluded the season for the Binghamton cross country teams.

NOTES: The highest Binghamton men's finishers at the NCAA Northeast Region Meet are Erik van Ingen (seventh in 2009, 12th in 2010) and Dan Schaffer (35th in 2017, 23rd in 2018 & 2021). Chris Gaube also placed 38th at the 2009 meet.
