Women’s Basketball Heads to UNH

Bearcats and Wildcats Tip Off Thursday at 6 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Sophomore guard Yanniah Boyd posted a game-high 16 points while sophomore forward Kendall Bennett contributed 11 points, 16 rebounds, five blocks, and two steals, leading Binghamton (14-12, 6-7 AE) to a 65-55 victory over NJIT on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore guard Bella Pucci (13 points, four rebounds, four assists, four steals) and redshirt junior guard Jadyn Weltz (11 points, four rebounds, four assists) were the other two Bearcats to score in double figures against the Highlanders.

- Weltz ranks third in the America East in steals (1.8 spg.) and seventh in assists (2.8 apg.). Pucci sits seventh in the conference in rebounding, averaging 5.7 boards per game. Also, Bennett places fifth in blocks (0.9 bpg.).

- As a team, Binghamton leads the America East with 8.6 steals per game and 35.2 rebounds per night. The Bearcats also rank third in scoring with an average of 60.3 points per contest.

- New Hampshire (9-17, 3-10 AE) secured a 62-55 overtime win at UMass Lowell. Eva DeChent led the Wildcats with 19 points, five rebounds, five steals, and two blocks. Maggie Cavanaugh added 16 points and five rebounds. Clara Gomez also notched seven points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.


- DeChent ranks second in the America East in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game. She also ranks fourth in steals (1.7 spg.). Gomez is third in the conference in rebounding, averaging 7.6 boards per game.


- As a team, New Hampshire ranks fourth in the conference in both rebounding (34.4 rpg.) and steals (7.4 spg.).


- Binghamton leads the all-time series 37-18. Earlier this season, the Bearcats claimed a 67-44 victory over UNH at home on Jan. 11.
