VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton baseball team returns home for its first series at the Bearcats Baseball Complex in three weeks as the program welcomes defending America East Conference champion Bryant (12-15-1, 2-4 America East) to the Southern Tier for three games this weekend.
 
The Bearcats (14-14, 5-4 America East) recently snapped their four-game losing streak after defeating UMBC 14-1 in the final matchup of a doubleheader on April 5. Second baseman Zack Kent hit a grand slam in the fifth inning, the 10th home run of the three-game series for the Bearcats. The junior ultimately drove in a career-high six runs on two hits against the Retrievers. Senior third baseman Devan Bade also went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while senior DH Zach Rogacki recorded an RBI on three hits.
 
By going 6-for-12 at the plate against the Retrievers, Rogacki leads the Bearcats with a batting average of .396 and an OPS of 1.030. Bolton also continues his stellar freshman season with his slash line now at .368/.442/.509.
 
Bryant is coming off a pair of non-conference games, first falling to Brown 10-6 on April 1 before defeating New Haven 4-2 on April 6. The Bulldogs' last conference series happened from March 28-29 at UMass Lowell, where the Bulldogs lost two out of three games. Junior infielder Drew Wyers leads the team in hitting with a batting average of .380 and an OPS of 1.098. Junior catcher Brandyn Durand, meanwhile, has six home runs and 26 RBIs, ranking first on the team in both categories. On the mound, freshman Michael Belcher has struck out a team-high 33 batters over 29.1 innings pitched.
 
The series begins on Friday with the first pitch scheduled for noon. Saturday's contest follows at 2 p.m., before the series concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m.
