KINGSTON, N.Y. –
Brandon Conner posted his second top 10 finish in his last three events after he tied for 10th at the Roar-EE Invitational Saturday at Wiltwyck Golf Club.
In the Binghamton golf team's final test before the NEC Men's Golf Championship, the junior finished with a score of 75-70 = 145/1-over par. Conner began the 36-hole tournament with two birdies in the first 18 holes, before following that up with four birdies in the second and final round.
"It was great to see," said Binghamton Head Coach
Bernie Herceg regarding Conner's performance. "He played solid all day."
Conner, who also won medalist honors at the Lehigh Invitational back in October, previously finished tied for eighth at the inaugural Testudo Cup on April 6. His score of 70/2-under par in the final round Saturday ties his lowest score relative to par in a round this spring season along with his 70/2-under par in the first round of the Testudo Cup.
"Brandon is in a good spot," said Herceg. "I'm really happy with where he is with his game, and I think he is going to give a good push at conferences."
Binghamton finished eighth as a team at 297-306 = 603/27-over par. St. Thomas Aquinas took first at 285-293 = 578/2-over par. Both St. Thomas Aquinas' Nolan Skaggs and Dartmouth's Tyler Brand shared medalist honors at 138/6-under par.
The Bearcats now turn their attention to the NEC Men's Golf Championship, which takes place from Thursday through Saturday at the Kingsmill Resort's River Course in Williamsburg, Va.
