VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball will carry the University and America East banners into the NCAA Regionals for a sixth time when the Beacats (29-24) open play at the Athens Regional Friday afternoon at Foley Field. Binghamton will face national No. 7 seed and SEC power Georgia at noon to begin the double-elimination regional. No. 2 regional seed Duke (37-19) meets No. 3 seed Oklahoma State (28-23) at 6 p.m.
The two winners meet at 6 p.m. Saturday after the two losing teams square off in an elimination game at noon.Â
As always in the NCAA tournament, Binghamton will face an elite nationally-ranked opponent. Georgia is ranked No. 10 in the nation, is 29-4 at home this spring and 24-2 against non-conference opponents. Georgia has hit 133 home runs this season - more than two per game. The Bulldogs have won seven regionals, four super regionals and made six trips to the College World Series. Last season, Georgia came within one win of advancing to the CWS.Â
Duke is making its third straight NCAA Regional appearance and 12th overall after losing in the ACC quarterfinals last week. The team averages 8.5 runs, which ranks 25th in the nation and has won 13 of its last 18 games.
Oklahoma State has won nine of its last 11 and is making its 12th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. The team lost in the Big 12 quarterfinals but earned the program's 50th NCAA Regional berth. The Cowboys are led by their pitching staff, which boasts a 4.33 ERA.Â
Binghamton freshman
Brady Bouchard (3-4, 8.78 ERA) will make his seventh start of the season when he faces Georgia. The Bulldogs will counter with 6-foot-5 junior Leighton Finley (2-2, 5.08 ERA). Sophomore No. 1

BINGHAMTON BACK IN REGIONALS FOR 2ND TIME IN 4 YEARS, 6TH OVERALL
Six-time America East champion Binghamton returns to the NCAA Regionals for the second time in four years (2022) and sixth time in the last 16 years. The Bearcats have gone previously in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2016 and most recently, 2022 (Stanford Regional). Binghamton is 1-10 all-time at NCAA Regionals, haven beaten George Mason 11-6 in an elimination game at the 2009 East Carolina Regional. Â Â
TIED FOR MOST CONFERENCE TITLES IN AMERICA EAST HISTORY
The Bearcats went 4-1 to capture the America East Championship last weekend in Orono, Maine. From the No. 3 seed position, Binghamton withstood a first-round elimination game and then toppled top-seeded and reigning champion Bryant in the winner-take-all finale Sunday afternoon. With the program's sixth championship, Binghamton tied former America East members Delaware and Stony Brook (which reached the 2012 CWS) for most titles in conference history. Â
BEARCATS VS. NCAA REGIONAL FIELD
For the first time in its six-year NCAA Regional participation, Binghamton has played each of the other three teams and is a combined 1-9. The Bearcats played a three-game regular season series against Georgia back in 2014, dropping all three games, including a 4-3 11-inning loss in the series opener. Earlier that same season, Binghamton went 1-2 against Duke in the opening series. The Bearcats lost the first two games, 7-3 and 5-1 before winning the series finale 7-6. Binghamton is 0-4 against Oklahoma State, having dropped a series to open the 2005 season and then losing 8-0 in the first game of the 2014 NCAA Stillwater Regional.Â
TWELVE TITLES IN 18 YEARS
Binghamton has won a combined 12 America East regular season and tournament titles in the last 18 years - the most of any team in the conference during that span. The Bearcats won four straight regular season crown between 2007-10 and then won back-to-back in 2016 and 2017. The team's four postseason tournament titles came in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2022 and 2025. Â Â
A WEEK IN ORONO, MAINE
Binghamton had an extended conference tournament trip in Orono, Maine (542+ miles from Binghamton). The team traveled on Monday, May 19, played an elimination game on Wednesday (W 14-8 over UMBC), topped No. 2 seed NJIT 15-10 on Thursday, waited out a wash-out Friday, beat No. 5 UAlbany 21-6 in the winners' bracket final Saturday and then split two games with No. 1 Bryant, losing 7-3 and then prevailing 6-5 in 11 innings in the winner-take-all game. The team celebrated the title at 7 p.m. Sunday night, drove half of the 9+ hour trek back, stayed overnight in Auburn, Mass. and then drove the final 4 hours early Monday morning to get back to campus just in time to watch the NCAA Selection Show. At one full week, it was the longest possible conference tournament trip for the Bearcats, with travel, elimination game and extra-inning "if necessary" game. Now the team heads in the opposite direction (South on I-95, 844 miles) via direct flight from Syracuse to Athens for what it hopes will be a similarly extended stay. Â Â Â Â Â
FORMER BULLDOG GREAT JESTER BONDS TWO PROGRAMSÂ
Binghamton and Georgia have one common thread —
Brian Jester. The former Bulldog All-American was presented in April with the Tom Cousins Outstanding Athletic Achievement Award. Jester was a prolific power hitter who led the Bulldogs to their first College World Series title in 1990, and first by an SEC school. Jester hit a team-high .364 and totaled 17 home runs and 64 RBI. He played first base and DH for Georgia and finished his career as an All-SEC and Academic All-SEC selection. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and returned to campus to earn his master's degree in sport management 2006. During his second stint at Georgia as Director of Baseball Operations, Jester helped steer the Bulldogs to three more College World Series berths and he owns the rare distinction of being part of five of the six CWS teams in school history, including its two most successful teams (1990, 2008). Now in his 11th year as an administrator at Binghamton, Jester oversees the division's corporate partnerships. He is the longest-tenured member of the external advancement team. Jester still shares his vast baseball knowledge as an analyst for America East postseason tournament games. His Bulldog ties are kept strong with several yearly trips back to Athens. Â

BEARCATS BRING MOST POTENT OFFENSIVE LINEUP IN YEARSÂ
Binghamton led the America East in hitting this season (.295) and is averaging 7.3 runs. The Bearcats have four hitters with 65+ hits, three with double-digit HR and five with 40+ RBI — all program records. At the America East tournament last week, Binghamton averaged 11.8 runs.  Â
BEARCATS RANK 27TH IN COUNTRY IN FIELDINGÂ
Binghamton led the America East for the third straight year and ranks 27th in the country in fielding with a .978 mark. That figure is close to the school record of .980, set by the 2023 team. The percentage is second-best among the Regional teams, behind Georgia (.982). Â
SIX ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS — FIVE ON FIRST TEAM
Led by its first five hitters in the lineup, who each were named first team all-conference, the Bearcats had six all-conference selections, two All-Rookie pics and two on the All-Academic Team. First team selections were DH
Evin Sullivan (3x first team), 3B
Devan Bade (2x first team), Utility
Zach Rogacki, 1B
Freddy Forgione and OF
Matt Bolton. Starting pitcher
Hayden Tarsia was named to the second team. Joining Bolton on the All-Rookie team was pitcher
Brady Bouchard. Bade and Rogacki made the All-Academic Team. Â
FIRST FIVE HITTERS ALL ON FIRST TEAM
The Bearcats' lineup gained a unique distinction when the first five hitters all were named first team all-conference. From freshman leadoff hitter
Matt Bolton to No. 5 hitter, graduate 1B
Freddy Forgione, with the senior 2-3-4 trio of
Zach Rogacki,
Devan Bade and
Evin Sullivan in-between, made Binghamton the first team in 14 years (2011 Stony Brook) to have its first five hitters all make the first team. Â
BOLTON WITH BIG ROOKIE CAMPAIGN
Freshman center fielder
Matt Bolton has made a splash in his inaugural collegiate season. He became the only freshman position player named first team all-conference and leads the entire conference with 77 hits, tied for most in school history. His candidacy for America East Rookie of the Year was derailed by Bryant's No. 1 starting pitcher (Michael Belcher). Bolton is hitting .356 with 60 runs scored and has an OPS of .980, strengthening his case for Freshman All-American selection. He also had two noted achievements this season — an inside-the-park HR in his first collegiate at-bat against Texas State on Feb. 14, and a game-saving over-the-head basket catch in an 8-7 13-inning win over Missouri on March 7.  Â
SULLIVAN, BADE BOOKEND ELITE CAREERS AT NCAAs
Senior third baseman
Devan Bade and senior catcher
Evin Sullivan are closing their elite careers the way they started ... at an NCAA Regional. The two four-year starters played at the 2022 Stanford Regional as freshmen and now will end their careers at Georgia. Bade is a two-time all-conference selection who led the America East with 59 RBI in 53 games. He has the most at-bats in program history (731 in 193 career games) and ranks among the school's top-5 in hits (232), RBI (146), HR (26) and doubles (44). Sullivan is a three-time first team all-conference catcher/DH who will finish among the program's top-5 in RBI (133), HR (26) and slugging (.528) and top-10 in hits (203) and OBP (.406). Â Â Â
ROAMING ROGACKI
Versatile senior
Zach Rogacki has played four positions for the Bearcats this season. He has been catcher (25 games), DH (6), LF (4) and RF (18). A superb catcher and quick, rangy outfielder, Rogacki has also been one of the league's top hitters. He was a first team "utility" all-conference selection and ranks in the AE top-5 in average (.360), hits (71), slugging (.611) and OPS (1.047). Â Â
SINICKI ONE OF NATION'S LONGEST TENURED COACHES
Head coach
Tim Sinicki is closing out his 33rd season and he has amassed 700+ wins. A six-time America East Coach of the Year (2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017), Sinicki is the longest-tenured coach in Binghamton University history and owns the third-longest tenure at one school among any current NCAA Division I baseball coaches. Sinicki's teams have advanced to NCAA Regionals six America East titles since 2009.Â
Â
TOP TWO STARTING PITCHERS GO DOWN EARLYÂ
Binghamton had to scramble early on when its top two starting pitchers went down with season-ending injuries. Sophomore No. 1
Ryan Bates was injured during his start in the Feb. 14 opener. Junior No. 2
Colin Rhein was shut down in late March after making six starts. The two injuries put added pressure on a pitching staff that consists of 10 underclassmen, including six freshmen. Â Â
YOUNGSTERS BOUCHARD, TARSIA TO START REGIONAL GAMES
Freshman right-hander
Brady Bouchard (3-4, 8.78 ERA) will become the first Bearcat rookie pitcher to start an NCAA game when he faces 10th-ranked Georgia in the opener. Primarily the team's top bullpen arm, Bouchard has made just six starts in 17 appearances. He made two appearances at the conference tournament. Bouchard got the win in the lopsided winners' bracket final over UAlbany (21-6) last Saturday after working the final 4.2 innings and allowing just one run with five strikeouts. Sophomore No. 1
Hayden Tarsia needed one more day's rest after he started Sunday in the first of two championship games vs. Bryant and he will be on the mound for Saturday's Regional game. Tarsia (4-3, 4.97) made two starts at the conference tournament and has logged a team-high 67 innings in 2025. He was a second team all-conference selection. Â Â
WHO'S HOT??Â
• Senior 3B
Devan Bade was the MOP at the America East Tournament after collecting 12 hits and 12 RBI in the five games. Bade had two home runs, including a grand slam, and slugged .909Â
• Graduate 1B
Freddy Forgione is hitting .383 (41-for-107) with 12 HR and 32 RBI in his last 28 games. Forgione has reached base safely in a Binghamton-record 37 straight games
