Bearcats and Mountain Hawks tangle at 1 p.m. in Bethlehem

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer opens its 2025 season with a road contest at Patriot League member Lehigh on Sunday. The teams square off at 1 p.m. at The Ulrich Sports Complex in Bethlehem.

The Bearcats were picked to tie for first place in the America East Coaches' Preseason Poll. Tenth-year head coach Neel Bhattacharjee returns seven starters from a team that reached the conference semifinals last fall. The Sunday opener begins a stretch of four-games-in-12-days with three of those coming on the road. Binghamton has played postseason six consecutive years and has advanced to the semifinals in three straight seasons.

Lehigh (0-1) opened its season with a 3-0 loss at Big Ten member Maryland on Thursday. The Mountain Hawks went 3-9-5 last season and were picked to finish tied for eighth out of 10 in the 2025 Patriot League Preseason Poll.

The teams haven't faced each other in nine years and Lehigh holds a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series. Binghamton has been blanked in each of the last three matchups (2014, 2015, 2016), including a 2-0 road loss in the last meeting in 2016. The Bearcats are 0-4 all-time in Bethlehem.

After Sunday's opener, Binghamton returns home to host St. Bonaventure at 6:07 p.m. Thursday at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
