Rappazzo Named AE Women’s XC Rookie of the Week

Freshman placed second overall in season-opening Colgate Invite

VESTAL, N.Y. – Simply put, it's been an impressive start to the collegiate career of freshman runner Alice Rappazzo. 

On Saturday at the season-opening Colgate Invitational, she placed second overall in the women's 5,000-meter cross country race. On Tuesday afternoon, Rappazzo was rewarded by being named the America East Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Rappazzo is the first Binghamton women's cross country runner to be named the conference's top rookie since current sophomore Anna Gansrow was chosen on Oct. 21.

Binghamton continues its season at the Iona Meet of Champions on Sept. 13.
