Bearcats placed atop Coaches' Preseason Poll for third time in four years

VESTAL, N.Y. - For the third time in four years and coming off the team's championship run in 2025, Binghamton baseball has been picked to win the America East. The conference released its Coaches' Preseason Poll Wednesday and the reigning champion Bearcats were slotted first with 32 points and three first-place votes. Last spring's runnerup, Bryant, garnered 30 points and three first-place votes. NJIT (26) and UAlbany (21) rounded out the top four.

The conference coaches also selected their Preseason All-Conference team by position and sophomore center fielder Matt Bolton and junior starting pitcher Hayden Tarsia were chosen. Both played key roles in Binghamton's 2025 title run.

Binghamton has now been picked to finish among the conference top-two for a fourth consecutive year and sixth time in seven years. Head coach Tim Sinicki, now in his 34th season, has orchestrated two postseason crowns in the last four years and five in the last 12. He owns the NCAA's longest current tenure at one school.

The Bearcats begin their 51-game season Feb. 13 with a series at nationally-ranked Dallas Baptist. Binghamton will again host the 2026 America East Championship, set for May 20-23 at the Complex.
