Women's basketball ready for duel with Maine

VESTAL, N.Y. – After picking up their fifth victory in conference play on Thursday, Binghamton women's basketball prepares to take on Maine (10-10, 5-2) in America East action on Saturday at the Events Center. The game is schedules for a 2 p.m. tip-off.

LAST TIME OUT
A defensive battle at the Events Center on Thursday saw Binghamton defeat New Hampshire 50-42. Bella Pucci led the team in scoring with 20 points on 50% shooting. Kendall Bennett dominated the glass with 14 rebounds, while also providing 13 points to notch her eighth double-double of the season.

BEARCAT DEFENSE
The high-pressure defensive scheme and the depth of the roster has contributed to much success for the Bearcats' defensive game. In their six games played in conference play, Binghamton is holding their opponents to under 60 points per game (59.5), while forcing 17.0 turnovers a game. The Bearcats also rank second in the conference in blocked shots, averaging 3.83 per game.

BENNETT TOP-10 IN FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE
Kendall Bennett sits among with the best in the nation, ranking ninth in field goal percentage at 61.4%. The junior forward is averaging 13.8 points per game and has made a career-best 97 field goals this season.

70 IS THE SWEET SPOT
Binghamton is 7-0 when scoring 70 or more points this season, showing that reaching that offensive threshold has been a strong indicator of success for the team with the efficiency and pace of play the Bearcats bring.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
Kendall Bennett notched her eighth double-double of the season against New Hampshire with 13 points and 14 rebounds. The eight double doubles rank her second in the conference and 26th in the nation. Bennett is currently the only player in the America East to be averaging a double-double in conference play with 15.0 ppg and 10.7 rebs a game.

Bennett's eighth double-double also moved her into a three-way tie for fourth for registering the most double-doubles in a single season in program history (D1 era). The most all time is 10 by Leah Truncale (2001-02) and Rebecca Camody (2018-19).
