VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton women's basketball (15-6, 7-1 AE) prepares to take on UMBC (11-10, 6-3 AE) Thursday evening at 6:07 p.m. in the Events Center.
LAST TIME OUT
After being down as much as 20 points, the Bearcats clawed its way back to force overtime and pick up its seventh America East victory of the season against Bryant (14-7, 4-4), 66-64. Four Bearcats reached double figures in scoring, with
Kendall Bennett leading the way with 24 points.
Meghan Casey tied the game with a huge three point shot to send the game into overtime. Freshman
Carletta Bennett would score the go-ahead basket in overtime to complete the historic comeback.

Kendall Bennett sits among with the best in the nation, ranking sixth in field goal percentage at 62.1% (best in conference). The junior forward is averaging 14.3 points per game and has made a career-best 110 field goals this season.
HISTORIC RUN
In just her second season, head coach
Mary Grimes is making history for the Bearcats. She has her team 7-1 in the America East at the halfway mark of the season for the first time in program history.
MAJOR NET IMPROVEMENT
In the latest NET (NCAA Evaluation Tool) rankings, Binghamton was ranked in the top 50 percent of all times in division I. They're listed 155th out of 359 teams in the nation. Last year, the Bearcats were ranked 259 at this time, a 104 net difference from last year to this year.
BEARCAT DEFENSE
The high-pressure defensive scheme and the depth of the roster have contributed to much success for the Bearcats' defensive game. In their eight games played in conference play, Binghamton is holding their opponents to under 60 points per game (59.5), while forcing 17.3 turnovers a game (league leader).
