VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (6-10, 1-2 America East) welcomes UMass Lowell (7-9, 0-0 AE) to campus for a three-game weekend series. The matchup originally was scheduled to be played at Lowell but the teams traded home weekends due to conditions at the River Hawks' home field. The flip means the Bearcats will play at Lowell on May 14-16, just ahead of the America East tournament, which Binghamton will host beginning May 20. The teams will start the series at 11 a.m. Friday and then play Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.) afternoons.Â
The Bearcats opened conference play last weekend at Bryant and dropped two of three. The back-to-back losses on Saturday and Sunday came on the heels of Binghamton winning four of five. The team is hitting .216 and has a 6.60 pitching ERA.Â
Sophomore first baseman
Steven Kraus leads the team with a .328 average and 11 RBI. Sophomore center fielder
Matt Bolton is hitting .306 with a .427 on-base percentage.  Â
UMass Lowell dropped a midweek game at Boston College 12-2 on Wednesday. This will be the first conference series for the River Hawks, who tied for sixth last season but missed the tournament. The team went 6-3 on a recent nine-game trip to California. They have a .264 batting average and a 7.00 pitching ERA. Â
