VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (18-13, 9-3 America East) welcomes Bryant (19-15, 7-5 AE) for a weekend series between the two conference kingpins. The three-game set betwen the top two teams in the America East standings is also a rematch of last spring's championship, which was won by Binghamton. 

The Bearcats have won eight straight games and 11 of their last 13. Binghamton leads the America East at the halfway point of the 24-game conference schedule. On Tuesday, the Bearcats scored the game's final eight runs to defeat Cornell 11-4. Binghamton ranks fourth in the conference in hitting (.265), fifth in pitching (5.92 ERA) and second in fielding (.969).

Sophomore 2B Sean Sweeney continues to lead the league with a .444 average. Sophomore CF Matt Bolton is batting .336 with a team-high 23 RBI. Sophomore 3B Tim Hennig is hitting .395 with eight RBI over his last 12 games and sophomore RF Braylen Gonzalez is hitting .364 over his last 15 games. 

The Bulldogs sit in second place in the conference standings, two games behind Binghamton. Bryant has dropped five of seven, including a 10-9 home loss to Rhode Island on Tuesday. The two-time reigning regular season champion Bulldogs lead the conference in hitting (.283) and pitching (5.52 ERA) and rank third in fielding (.968). Senior 3B Ellis Garcia is batting .357 with eight home runs and 30 RBI.

The teams met five weeks ago in Smithfield and Bryant took two of three to open league play. Bryant leads the all-time series 12-5. Last May in Orono, however, Binghamton won the tournament title with a 6-5, 11-inning win.
