Armitage wins pole vault at UAlbany, breaks own school record

ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior Alyssa Armitage captured the women's pole vault and broke her own school record, highlighting Binghamton's performance at a pair of non-scoring outdoor track & field meets this weekend. The majority of the teams took part in the Bobbi Palma UAlbany Spring Classic while a handful of others traveled to the Virginia Challenge.

Armitage took top honors in her event during the meet at UAlbany. Her winning height of 13-4 ½ eclipsed her previous school record of 13-3 ½, which she set during the 2025 indoor season.

A trio of Binghamton athletes won their individual events for the second week in a row - all of which took place during the UAlbany meet. They include junior Matthew Oluwole in the men's high jump (6-5), senior Lucciana Robertson in the women's high jump (5-7 ½) and sophomore Owen Keating in the men's pole vault (15-11).

In addition, redshirt freshman Gannon Traymore won the men's hammer for the third straight week. His distance at UAlbany was 200-9.

Other first-place finishers at UAlbany included sophomore Andrew Fasone in the men's 200, redshirt sophomore Brennan Delany in the men's javelin (177-3), junior Luke Miklus in the men's 5,000 (14:57.36) as well as sophomore Alicia DeFilippis in the women's 1,500 (4:50.15).
