VESTAL, N.Y. – Both
Jack Tebeau and
Sean Shen of the Binghamton golf team have been recognized by the NEC for their performance at the Battle at Rum Pointe last weekend. Tebeau was named Golfer of the Week by the conference Thursday, while both golfers were also selected as a Prime Performer.
Tebeau is coming off the best finish of his collegiate career, as he tied for second out of 99 golfers at Iona's tournament. The freshman shot 73-70 = 143/1-under par at the 36-hole event. He posted a career-low score for both a single round (70/2-under par in the final round) and for 36 holes. Tebeau's performance in the final round helped him move up 12 spots on the leaderboard, after he finished the opening round tied for 14th.
Tebeau is the first Binghamton golfer to be named Golfer of the Week by the NEC since the Bearcats joined the league before the start of the 2023-24 season. Previously,
Brandon Conner had been named Golfer of the Month by the conference in October of 2024.
Additionally, Tebeau was selected as a Prime Performer by the league for the second time this season. He was previously chosen for the honor last fall on Oct. 30.
Joining Tebeau as a Prime Performer this week is Shen, who just missed out on his third top 20 finish of the season at the Battle at Rum Pointe. The senior finished tied for 21st at 73-76 = 149/5-over par.
This is the second time that Shen has ever been named a Prime Performer by the NEC. The last time he received the honor was on April 3, 2024.
Binghamton has six Prime Performer selections so far in 2025-26, the most the program has ever had in one season. Conner has been named a Prime Performer three times this season, collecting the award on Oct. 2, Oct. 30 and March 25.
Binghamton is now preparing to compete at Villanova's Wildcat/Fazio Invite, which will be held from April 6-7 at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, N.J.
