Traymore 13th in men’s hammer, Armitage 21st in women’s pole vault

LEXINGTON, Kent. – Redshirt freshman Gannon Traymore was 13th in the men's hammer and senior Alyssa Armitage was 21st in the women's pole vault, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the NCAA East Region Outdoor Track & Field Meet. The four-day event, which is being hosted by Kentucky, runs through Saturday but all three Bearcat entries have completed their competition.

Traymore was seeded 24th out of 48 regional qualifiers in his event but exceeded his projection with a distance of 214-7. He was in position to grab the 12th and final spot to the NCAA Championships but in the last throw of the competition, Duke's Christian Toro moved ahead of him with a distance of 218-0.

Also competing in the men's hammer was Brian Luciano, who was making his third and final trip to the East Region Meet. He placed 32nd overall with a distance of 202-5.

Armitage, meanwhile, came into the NCAA East Region Meet seeded No. 43 in her event. She cleared her opening two heights (12-10 and 13-4) on her first attempts to move into the top half of the standings. From there, Armitage nearly cleared 13-10, which would have broken her own school record.

The NCAA East Region Meet concludes the 2025-26 outdoor season for the Bearcats.
