VESTAL, N.Y. – Senior first baseman Emma Lawson and senior pitcher Olivia Kennedy have earned the final America East weekly honors of the 2026 season. Lawson was named the conference's Player of the Week for the second time this year while Kennedy collected the Pitcher of the Week honor for the first time this season.
Lawson hit .875 (7-for-8) with three home runs and seven RBI during the Bearcats' three-game sweep over UMass Lowell that clinched the No. 2 seed at the upcoming America East Tournament. She drove in the game-winning run in all three victories. Her on-base percentage was .889 and slugging percentage was 2.000. Lawson - who is now hitting .340 this season - has a team-best, 10-game hitting streak heading into the America East Tournament.Â
For her career, Lawson has now been named the America East Player of the Week five times during her career. In addition to being the pick back on Feb. 10 this year, she was chosen on Feb. 13, 2024, Feb. 11, 2025 and April 8, 2015.Â
Kennedy, meanwhile, went 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA during the series against UMass Lowell. She held the River Hawks to a 2.55 batting average in 13.0 innings. Of the three runs she allowed, one was unearned. She struck out seven batters and issued just four walks.
This marks the third America East Pitcher of the Week honor for Kennedy. She was also selected on March 19, 2024 and April 15, 2025.
Binghamton (16-24) is the No. 2 seed heading into the America East Tournament. The Bearcats' first game is against No. 5 - and host - Maine on Wednesday at 1;30 p.m.
