VESTAL, N.Y. – After being named the most valuable player of last weekend's Bearcat Classic, Viktoria Dimitrova has been named the Player of Week by the America East Conference, the league announced Tuesday.
 
The junior outside hitter from Bulgaria helped the Binghamton volleyball team win all three matches in its home tournament last weekend, with the Bearcats defeating Temple, Cornell and New Haven. In 13 sets played, the Bulgarian recorded 47 kills for an average of 3.62 per set. That includes a season-high 18 against Temple on Sept. 10 and 16 against New Haven on Sept. 12. Dimitrova also added 15 digs and 12 total blocks throughout the invitational.
 
This is the second time that Dimitrova has been named Player of the Week by the America East in her career and first this season. Dimitrova previously received the honor back on Nov. 4, 2025, after she had back-to-back matches of at least 20 kills in wins against UAlbany (21 kills) and NJIT (22) the week prior.
 
Binghamton has also earned a weekly honor from the America East for the second week in a row. Regan Kadel was named Setter of the Week on Sept. 9, after posting a combined 104 assists across 12 sets for an average of 8.67 per frame in Binghamton's three victories at the Sacred Heart Invitational.
 
The Bearcats (6-3), who have won their last six matches, now prepare for their final in-season tournament. This weekend, Binghamton competes in the Dartmouth Invitational in Hanover, N.H. The Bearcats first face Dartmouth (3-3) at 3 p.m., on Friday, followed by Boston College (7-1) at 3 p.m., on Saturday, and then Quinnipiac (1-7) at noon on Sunday.
