VESTAL, N.Y. – For the second week in a row, Viktoria Dimitrova of the Binghamton volleyball team has been chosen as the America East Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Dimitrova helped the Bearcats (8-4) win two out of their three matches at the Dartmouth Invitational last weekend. The junior outside hitter from Bulgaria put up 51 kills across 12 sets, averaging 4.25 per set. She finished the invitational with a hitting percentage of .407. First, she recorded 19 kills in Binghamton's 3-1 over Dartmouth last Friday. Then, on Sunday, Dimitrova tied her career high of 22 kills to help Binghamton defeat Quinnipiac in five sets.
 
Dimitrova also contributed on defense throughout the invitational. She had nine total blocks, including five against Dartmouth, and six digs. For her performance, Dimitrova was named to the invitational's all-tournament team.
 
This is the third time Dimitrova has been named Player of the Week by the America East. Aside from last week's recognition, Dimitrova also received the honor on Nov. 4, 2025.
 
This is the first time Binghamton has had one its players chosen as the Player of the Week in consecutive weeks since Tsvetelina Ilieva received the honor on Oct. 15 and Oct. 22, 2024. Ilieva ultimately was named Player of the Week a league-high six times that season en route to being named the conference's Player of the Year and earning American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-America honors.
 
Going into conference play this weekend, Dimitrova is tied for the lead in the America East in kills per set at 3.54. She is also third in the league in points per set (3.97), fifth in blocks per set (0.80) and eighth in hitting percentage (.244).
 
Binghamton begins America East play by traveling to face New Hampshire (9-3) at 1 p.m., on Sunday.
