BURLINGTON, Vt. - Binghamton men's basketball will look to reverse recent history when the Bearcats (2-18, 1-4 AE) face first-place and unbeaten Vermont (9-8, 4-0 AE) at 7 p.m. Monday in Patrick Gym. The Catamounts own a 23-7 margin in the all-time series, including an 11-2 cushion at home.   Â

Binghamton is coming off a tough 73-66 overtime loss to visiting New Hampshire Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats put five players in double figures for the first time this season and were a video replay away from winning the game at the regulation buzzer.    Â

QUICK HITS• Sophomore guard
Marlon Beck has scored in double figures in three of his last four games and is averaging 13.0 points during that span. Beck played a season-high 41 minutes in the game vs. UNH.

Romello Walker on 1/12. The Bearcats are nearing last year's rare feat of having four different players earn top rookie weekly honors.

• Binghamton has been hit by two key injuries to its frontcourt. Six-foot-9 sophomore
Nick Madray went down with an ankle injury after scoring 20 points vs. St. Bonaventure on Dec. 20. He has missed the last six games. Six-foot-9 center and leading scorer
Dusan Perovic (11.5 ppg.) suffered an ACL injury at practice on Jan. 5 and will be lost for the remainder of the season.

• Binghamton has statistically the youngest team in the entire country (StatSheet.com). It's 14 players have a combined 10 years of collegiate experience. There are only two upperclassmen on the roster (1 senior, 1 junior).

• Four of the team's top-5 scorers are freshmen and the starting lineup features four freshmen and a sophomore.

ABOUT VERMONTÂ
The Catamounts held UMBC without a field goal over the first 9:13 of the second half and put together a 24-6 run to pull away from the Retrievers, 71-54 on Saturday. Vermont improved to 4-0 in America East play with its fourth straight win. Ethan O'Day led the Catamounts with 15 points, on 7-for-9 shooting, and seven rebounds. Brendan Kilpatrick added 13 points in 19 minutes off the bench and Trae Bell-Haynes scored 10 points, all in the second half. The Catamounts lead America East in field goal percentage (45.3%) and also lead the league in field goal percentage defense (39.8%). Ethan O'Day leads the conference in field goal percentage (60.2%) and Ryan Pierson is the top free throw shooter at 90.0 percent.
Vermont was picked fourth in the Coaches' Preseason Poll. The team has just one starter back from a 22-win team that won the conference regular season title before losing in the semifinals.
ALL-TIME SERIESVermont swept the season series last season, winning 72-39 in Burlington and then pulling out a 92-82 overtime win at the Events Center five weeks later. In the first meeting, the Catamounts jumped out to a 25-point halftime cushion and shot 69 percent in the second half to cruise. At Vestal on March 2, however, BU put 82 points on the board and pushed first-place Vermont to overtime in a tight loss in front of nearly 3,000 fans. In that game, Yosef Yacob had 22 points (5 3's).Â
