VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton men's basketball renews acquaintances with Northeast Conference member CCSU for the first time in seven years when the Bearcats (0-3) and Blue Devils (0-3) meet Tuesday night in New Britain, Conn. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at Detrick Gym.
Binghamton plays its third road game in four games to open the 2015-16 season. The Bearcats are looking for their first win of the season, as is CCSU.
QUICK HITS•   Tuesday's tile is the first of two games against Northeast Conference teams this season (Mt. St. Mary's on Dec. 29).
•   Sophomore forward
Willie Rodriguez (13.0 ppg., 7.0 rpg.) leads the team in scoring and rebounding.
•   Freshman guard
Everson Davis is averaging 10.0 points and a team-best 3.3 assists.
•   Freshman center
Thomas Bruce is averaging 5.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks
•   The Bearcats have seven players averaging 20 or minutes per game and six are underclassmen.
LAST TIME OUT•   Binghamton received 17 points from junior guard
Marlon Beck II but surrendered 12 three-pointers and succumbed to host Cornell 76-59 last Wednesday.
•   Sophomore forward
Willie Rodriguez added 14 points and seven rebounds.
•   Freshman guard
Everson Davis tallied 10 points and five assists.
•   Cornell shot 53% (59% in second half) and allowed BU no closer than five in the second half.
ABOUT CCSU•   Blue Devils have lost to fellow America East member Hartford (92-83 in 2OT), at Penn (77-61) and at Boston College (82-57) to start the season.
•   CCSU is averaging 67.0 points on offense but is giving up 83.7 points.
•   Junior guard Khalen Cumberlander is averaging a team-best 15.3 points.
•   Senior forward Brandon Peel is averaging 13.7 points and a team-best 9.7 rebounds.
•   Three of the team's starters are averaging 33+ minutes a game
•   CCSU was picked to finish 10th (last) in the Northeast Conference Preseason Poll.
•   CCSU returns three starters from a 5-26 team of a year ago.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. CCSU•   CCSU owns a 4-0 lead in the all-time series.
•   The teams played all four games in a four-year span between 2005-08, including twice in the 2005-06 season.
•   Three of CCSU's wins have been by four or fewer points.
•   Ironically, the most lopsided game was a 76-51 win for host CCSU during BU's NCAA season in 2008-09. In fact, that loss was the worst of BU's record-setting 23-9 campaign — even more lopsided than the Bearcats' 86-62 loss to second-seeded Duke in the NCAA tournament. Â
NEXT UP•   Binghamton returns home for two straight games at the Events Center, beginning with a Saturday tilt against former America East foe Boston University
•   The B.U. Terriers, now in the Patriot League, own a commanding 21-5 lead in the all-time series.
