Game Notes

VESTAL, N.Y. - Fresh off a solid road win and Thanksgiving mini-break, Binghamton men's basketball (1-3) welcomes former America East foe Boston University (2-3) to the Events Center on Saturday. The Bearcats and Terriers will tip at 4 p.m. at Dr. Bai Lee Court.

QUICK HITS
•    After getting its first win in five tries against CCSU on Tuesday, Binghamton looks to find success against another historically tough opponent in former America East foe Boston University. The Terriers are 21-5 all-time vs. the Bearcats.
•    Saturday's game is the first of back-to-back home games against Patriot League foes before BU hits the road for three straight.
•    Sophomore forward Willie Rodriguez ranks fourth in the America East in scoring (16.5 ppg.) and sixth in rebounding (6.8 rpg.).
•    Freshman guard Everson Davis (9.5 ppg.) ranks seventh in the AE in assists (3.5 apg.)
•    Freshman center Thomas Bruce is tied for fourth in the AE in blocks (1.3 bpg.).
•    Binghamton's scoring and minutes are still heavily weighted in youth. Underclassmen (Fr. & So.) account for 85% of both categories. No seniors appear on either list.

LAST TIME OUT
•    Binghamton received a career-high 27 points from Willie Rodriguez and held off host CCSU 81-75 on Tuesday in New Britain, Conn. for its first win.
•    The Bearcats shot a season-high 53% and hit 10-of-18 three-pointers.
•    The Bearcats sank 10-of-12 free throws in the final 0:53 to seal the win.
•    Junior guard Marlon Beck (17 pts.) and sophomore center Dusan Perovic (11 pts.) also reached double figures.
•    Binghamton handed out a season-high 18 assists.

ABOUT BOSTON UNIVERSITY
•    Boston is coming off an 82-62 road loss to No. 1 Kentucky on Tuesday.
•    The Terriers were within seven at half and within single digits before a 22-5 Wildcats run midway through the second half provided the margin.
•    Senior guard and leading scorer John Papale (17.2 ppg.) tallied 15 pts.
•    Earlier in the season, Boston knocked off three-time reigning America East champion Albany at home, 69-64.
•    The team also beat South Florida on the road, 78-66. Its other losses came against Northeastern (87-84 in OT) and at NJIT (90-76).
•    Four of Boston's first five opponents won 20+ games last season.
•    The Terriers return every single player from a 13-17 team and were picked to finish third (of 10) in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
•    Junior Cedric Hankerson is a reigning all-conference selection who ranked third in the PL in scoring (15.9 ppg.).
•    Boston has played postseason (national) in four of the last five years.
•    The school made the move from the America East to the Patriot League in 2013-14 and promptly won 24 games and a regular season title.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. BOSTON
•    The Terriers own a commanding 21-5 cushion in the head-to-head series, which began in 2002.
•    Boston has won nine straight games, including each of the last five by double digits.
•    Last season, host Boston withstood a school-record 34 points from Dusan Perovic to post a 77-65 win on Dec. 2.
•    In that game, Boston put four players in double figures, hit 14 threes and received 21 game points from Cedric Hankerson. The Bearcats trailed by 11 at the break and despite 29 second-half points from Perovic, Binghamton couldn't rally, thanks to 64% shooting in the second half by the Terriers.
•    Binghamton is just 6-27 all-time against teams from the Patriot League.

NEXT UP
•    Binghamton stays at home to host Colgate on Tuesday night before playing three straight tough road games.
•    The Bearcats are 2-10 all-time against the Raiders and have lost four straight in the series.
•    Looming is a Dec. 5 date in East Lansing, Mich. against current No. 3 and undefeated Michigan State.
