VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball will still play a three-game set at VMI but the schedule has been pushed back a day. The Bearcats (1-5) and Keydets (2-1) will play a doubleheader on Sunday (2 p.m.) and a single game on Monday (1 p.m.) at Gray-Minor Stadium in Lexington, Va.
Binghamton is coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of Radford last weekend. VMI, meanwhile, has had 14 consecutive games cancelled since opening its season by winning two of three at North Florida on Feb. 13-15.
Senior right fielder
Jake Thomas leads BU with a .391 average and seven RBI. Senior center fielder
Zach Blanden is hitting .364 and freshman shortstop
Paul Rufo is at .308.
The Bearcats will send senior righthander
Greg Ostner (0-2, 8.59 ERA) and junior righty
Rob Hardy (0-1, 4.00 ERA) to the hill on Sunday. Monday's starter hasn't been announced.
VMI's starting rotation is senior righty Andrew Woods (1-0, 1.29 ERA), sophomore righty Blaine Lafin (0-0, 18.00 ERA) and freshman lefthander Brandon Barbery (1-0, 0.00).
The Keydets are batting .301 as a team, led by junior left fielder Ray Lopez, who has opened his season by hitting 6-of-10.
