STORY LINES

- Binghamton (0-1) lost its season opener 67-57 on Friday evening against a Bucknell team favored to win the Patriot League. Junior guard Imani Watkins poured in a game-high 26 points while freshman guard Kai Moon netted 13 points in her debut.

- Binghamton returns four starters and nine letterwinners from last year's squad that went 14-17 and tied for third in the America East Conference after being picked last (ninth) in the preseason poll. The Bearcats advanced to the conference semifinal for the first time since 2012 and were the eighth most improved NCAA Division I program in the nation.

- Yale opens its season against Binghamton following a 14-17 finish in 2015-16. In the Ivy League Preseason Poll, the Bulldogs were picked to finish sixth out of eight teams.

- Binghamton has been picked to finish fourth in the America East this season -- its highest prediction since the 2011-12 campaign. In addition, junior guard Imani Watkins was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.

- In the only previous meeting between the two programs, Binghamton won 75-68 in New Haven on Jan. 2, 2001. Current Binghamton Associate Head Coach Leah Truncale was a junior forward on that team and finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, a block and three steals against the Bulldogs. Teammate Bess Greenberg, meanwhile, drained a three program-record eight three-point field goals and finished with 30 points.
