BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Visiting Buffalo (6-4) won the doubles point in quick fashion and then captured five of the six singles matches to pin a 6-1 loss on Binghamton men's tennis (4-9) in the MAC opener for both teams Friday afternoon at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
Sophomore No. 1
Ludovico Cestarollo provided BU's lone point with a 6-7, 6-4, 10-4 singles win. It was his 10th singles win of the season.
Two other singles matches went to a third set but the Bulls won each.Â
"Credit to Buffalo today," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "They came ready to play and they were really even-keeled through the whole match. We didn't do well enough to deal with setbacks during the match. We've struggled with our resiliency through the year and it showed today against a very solid opponent. We get to recover tomorrow and then need to be tougher on Sunday morning against Northern (Illinois)."
After Buffalo and NIU meet on Saturday at the BTC, the Bearcats and NIU finish off the tri-match weekend with a 10 a.m. tilt on Sunday.Â
