Women's Lacrosse Opens AE Conference Play Against Vermont

The game is set for a 3 p.m. start time at the Bearcat Sport Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team will host the Vermont Catamounts this Saturday, March 25 to open America East Conference Play. The game is set for a 3 p.m. start time at the Bearcats Sport Complex.

Binghamton is coming off an exciting 11-10 win over Niagara's Purple Eagles this past Wednesday, March 22. In the away game matchup, junior Tiffany Ryan led the Bearcats with four goals while sophomore Rebecca Golderman and junior Jacqueline Kennedy each recorded hat tricks. Sophomore Emily Yoo finished the game with one goal and four points, also adding on three assists to help fuel Binghamton's offense. Golderman is ranked fifth in the America East with an average 3 goals per game while junior Emma Jehle is ranked second in saves per game (9.56) and first in ground balls per game (3.00).

Vermont is coming off of their first win of the season; a 17-10 victory over St. Bonaventure. Alison Bolt fueled the Catamounts offense as she netted a career-high seven goals, one assist, scooped up three ground balls, won three draw controls, and caused three turnovers. Jenna Janes wasn't far behind as she notched her second hat trick of the season on four shots and recorded a pair of assists. The win was head coach Sarah Dalton's first career win at the helm of Vermont's women's lacrosse program. The Catamounts are now 1-9 on the season.

Vermont holds an 11-4 all-time lead over Binghamton dating back to 2002. Binghamton last beat Vermont in the 2016 season on the road by a score of 13-8. Vermont won in the 2015 season 18-7.

Saturday is Binghamton lacrosse Youth Day. All children 12 and under will receive free admission to the double header.
