NEWARK, N.J. - Binghamton men's tennis (4-6) won the doubles point and captured two of the first three completed singles matches but host NJIT rallied to close the match with three singles wins and the Highlanders pinned a 4-3 loss on the Bearcats, snapping BU's four-match win streak.
Freshman No. 2
Tiago Lourenco extended his win streak to five matches with a straight-set win.
"Congrats to NJITÂ on a tough performance," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "On our side of the net we are pretty disappointed. We didn't have the sense of urgency that we needed the whole way through to finish some leads that could have sealed the deal."
The task will get considerably tougher for BU on Saturday with a match at No. 24 Columbia (7-2).Â
