Women's Lacrosse Prepares for No. 8 Cornell

The game is set for a 3 p.m. start time at Schoellkopf Stadium

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (5-6) travels to No. 8 Cornell (7-1) Tuesday, April 4 for their final non-conference matchup of the season. The game is set for a 3 p.m. start time at Schoellkopf Stadium.

Binghamton is coming off a 13-6 victory over Mount St. Mary's for their third consecutive win this season. Sophomore Olivia Batista and redshirt junior Jocelyn Penteck fueled the offense with four goals apiece. Currently, the Bearcats are ranked second in the America East in shots per game and third in caused turnovers (10/game). Individually, sophomore Rebecca Golderman is ranked fourth in goals per game (3.00) and junior goalie Emma Jehle holds first for ground balls per game (3.45) and is second in saves per game (9.27).

No. 8 Cornell is coming off a 12-9 victory over Rutgers to improve to a six game win streak. Cornell is currently ranked in multiple offensive categories for the Ivy League, including goals per game (12.62), assists per game (6), ground balls per game (19.25) and points per game (18.62). Senior Amie Dickson is ranked fourth in the Ivy League for assists with 17.

Cornell has taken the upper hand in the last five meetings between the two teams since 2012. Last year, the Big Red defeated Binghamton 14-5 at the Bearcats Sport Complex.
